studio dayspring christmas cards giveaway

**this contest is now closed, and pinkdaisyjane is the winner!**

dayspring was one of the sponsors of the relevant blogging conference that i attended in october. they sponsored a lovely lounge and a bunch of giveaways while we were there. (i won an incredible nativity that i was so excited to pull out as soon as we got home from thanksgiving.  so much pretty.)

i jumped at the chance to review their cards because i am TERRIBLE at sending christmas cards and figured this may be the only way our family actually gets them out!

last night we got our computer back (after 15 days) and i was finally able to get to work.  studio dayspring has dozens of templates for all kinds of photo cards for christmas, new years, invitations, or anything else, and if you choose their "U-Design" tab you have even more creative freedom.

a bit of advice--i had trouble preventing my images from bleeding into the other image boxes, so if you create a multi-photo card, you may want to crop them down to faces before you begin.

here's a nice example of a template dayspring offers:
i love how they turned out: the template with its unusual color palate, the space for multiple images (because you're crazy if you think a decent picture exists of the four of us at the same time!), and the freedom to add whatever message, text, and verse i chose.  i can't wait to get them in the mail:)

edited to add:  i'm also really impressed with studio dayspring because after i ordered the cards and posted here, they contacted me to say that two of my pictures were pixelated.  i sent them the original files, and they fixed it for me.  what great customer service!

(lesson:  don't use a photo from facebook or your blog--the quality is not the same!)

studio dayspring is offering one {so much reviews} reader a coupon code to design (and ship) 50 flat 5x7 cards absolutely free--a $62 value!

to enter, simply leave a comment (with your email address if it's not on a blogger profile) about christmas cards.  do you send them?  make them?  forget them?  do you design them as soon as your summer vacation is over, or are you up late nights in december wrestling with fonts and cropping like me?  do you not mess with photo cards or prefer a letter?

the winner will be chosen by random.org on monday december 6, so you still have some good time to design, ship, and send.  good luck!

-----
dayspring provided me with complimentary cards but I was not otherwise compensated to write this review.

if you're visiting here for the first time, welcome!  you can also find me writing at so much shouting, so much laughter.  if you'd follow this blog, subscribe, or follow me on twitter, i'd love to keep in touch:)

I love Christmas cards becasue I get to "catch up" on people I don't see throughout the year. We out ours in a basket on our table and pray for one family each night before recycling the cards!

Well, last year we were just VERY late with our cards, so did New Year cards instead! It went so well, that we are going to do it again! Definitely like hte photo cards... it allows people to follow the kids growing up that would not normally see them.

I LOVE getting Christmas cards in the mail...it's just getting organized enough to create and give out Christmas cards that I struggle with!

I never know when is a good time to send christmas cards. Do you have to be married or just dating that holiday. We have been together for 5 years (yes. I am waiting on that ring) Hopefully I have more luck winning Christmas cards than I have had with trying to plan a future :]

I love to put our christmas cards around our door frame to the office. It reminds me of each dear friend that sent it and to pray for them during this holiday season!

Pick me! Pick me! They would be perfect for our announcing the birth of baby Norah just a week ago!!! Pick me! Pick me!!

Love ya, girl!

I never have done Christmas cards before but now that I have a family of my own I would like to start the tradition. Actually one of many I would like to begin. I have recently started making my own thank you cards bc I feel it is much more personal and I get a sense of satisfaction out of it as well, knowing that I did more than sign my name and address and stamp the envelope. I think with a picture card I will still personalize it with a small note on the back. Between working full time and being a mom and wife I am not sure how fast I will get my christmas cards out, so I like the idea of a new years card and will think about that option. In the mean time, I will have the hard decision of picking the perfect picture(s). What a terrible dilemma? What picture do I choose of my beautiful family? :) They are all wonderful, even if they are not perfect!

I send cards to far-aways. We make ornaments for close-bys.

I am not actually an expert though, as this is my first holiday season sticking to this plan.

We always send a picture card and a letter. We alternate years whether we have a whole-family picture or just the kids. Lately, our fourth-grader has been writing the letter for us!

I always want to send out cards, but don't always make it. Right now, I have cards, but I need to fill them out, address...it takes time!

I send photo cards, which my friends appreciate bcs so many of them have photo galleries in their homes. One of my favorites uses the photo Christmas cards she receives as prayer cards for the year ahead. Love.

I'll be doing that as well.

Hope to be able to do it for FREE. ;)

Our Christmas cards got picked up by the mailman this morning!

We hand sign them all, with some sort of message added inside.
I also enclose a short Christmas letter, to catch everyone up on our recent doings. This year's letter had our son's wedding picture in it!

I am glad to see so many sending cards... WAY better than e-cards to me.

I love to send Christmas cards. I usually make them, but am considering a photo card this year. Thanks for your review.

Oh fun! I love that you used different pictures...it is so stressful trying to get a good pic of 4 people (two of which never stop moving!)

I would send them if I remembered. It would be helpful if they were free!
