not just for dirty hippies: envirosax giveaway
i'm excited to tell you about a great giveaway sponsored by the fine folks at reuseit.com--a set of 5 envirosax, the stylish and sturdy shopping totes that fold up tiny to fit in your purse.
i bought an envirosax tote and packaged a gift in it for my mom. i love the idea of gift wrap that is useful, reusable, and still lovely. she loves that she doesn't have to remember to bring it with her to the store, since it packs away so conveniently in her bag. (they roll to a tiny 4" x 1.5".)
the top photo makes them look little, but they are a generous 19.5" x 16.5 with a 18" loop handle. they weigh 1.4 oz and fit the equivalent of two plastic grocery bags' worth of items.
now, you aren't guaranteed to look quite as hot as this model schlepping your groceries, but you'll still be doing your part to save the planet, one bag at a time. or five bags, as it were;)
if you win these, you are sure to put them to good use for yourself or as gifts. want to buy some of your own? reuseit has a coupon code just for you: 10% of all envirosax through 7/13. just enter SMSSML at checkout.
if you want to win this sweet set of 5 envirosax (plus carrier pouch), just leave me a comment saying what you do to reduce waste in your household, with a way to get in touch (if you're not a blogger).
if you follow this green review blog of mine or subscribe, leave another comment telling me that you do and you'll get another entry.
if you follow or subscribe to my main blog, so much shouting, so much laughter, (again, leaving a comment here saying you do), and you can get a third entry.
the last day to enter is monday july 12, and I will announce a winner on tuesday july 13. good luck!
edited to add: random.org will choose the winner's comment number, so separate comments are needed if you want multiple entries.

i purchased envirosax with my own dime, but you can win them for free from reuseit:)

I reduce waste by recycling and donating anything and everything that can possibly be recycled or used by someone else. I even recycle paper straw wrappers, bcs it makes me feel better.
I subscribe to both of your blogs.

I like to reuse things. Decorate with what I already have, but using something in a new way. I'd rather give away things that I no longer want than throw it away. I cringe at that idea. We reuse gift wrap and gift bags if not using fabric bags. We're not big on using lots of lights when you don't really need them. Especially in this heat. I'd rather go outside!!
Great giveaway! Keep up the good work. I have your blog in my bloglines list :)
the back of my van is filled w/reusable bags!; we use cloth napkins 99.5% of time; we use reusable water bottles; we recycle as much as we can; I make many of my own cleaning supplies now : )

1. i reuse gift bags, paper, and boxes...love to see the smile when i return a bag to someone who originally gave it to me..
2. i make my own soil! i filled in my back yard by "lasagna gardening"..using newspapers and cardboard, old leaves (which i save each year in plastic bags), grass clippings, peat, ashes, whatever...
3. i beg grass clippings from my neighbor and professional yard care folks (not just to lasagna garden)and use this free material for mulch in my gardens..it then becomes part of my garden when it's done producing..
4. i have eliminated grass lawns and ear splitting, fuel burning lawnmowers and created perennial
gardens all around my house..once they're in and growing, there's more time and energy for the next big thing!! and every year they get bigger and better!
i hope that's 4 entries, because i absolutely love those bags..i will use them prudently!
we part-time cloth diaper, replaced napkins and paper towels w/ recycled t-shirts or old burp cloths, and we do recycle the cardboard/plastic that comes in the house!

the totes are so cute!
i recycle, donate my excess to Goodwill/Sal Val, buy organic, and use totes to avoid plastic bagging.
Hey Susannah,
We have tried really hard in the last few years to reduce waste for our family of 6. We recycle everthing that can be recycled. We leave at the curb whatever the city will take and we take the rest of it to a local joint that has containers for everything recyclable! 95% if the time on Monday nights when we take out the trash we have more recycling than regular trash - that is our goal.
We have also begun using cloth towels rather than paper in the kitchen - which is difficult for me but I'm getting used to it. When the kids outgrow things if they aren't in decent enough shape to donate we use them as rags.
We have changed back from pump soap to regular bar soap for handwashing reducing the amount of plastic we are even recycling and we are burning candles more at night and hangin out laundry to dry!
xoxo
I'm about to go subscribe to this blog

I reduce waste by doing as much recycling. Less to no paper towels and bottled water for example.

Subscriber of main blog as well.
We are using reusable bags when we grocery shop, and we are trying harder to recycle. I hope it sticks this time!
